Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Treatment information
Bazuka Sub-Zero is a freezing treatment used to permanently remove warts and verrucas. It is a home treatment based on the cryotherapy methods used by dermatologists, that often removes warts with just one use. It can be used by anyone over the age of four. Each pack contains materials for 12 freeze applications.
Bazuka Sub-Zero is the only product to use a patented technology called Verrukill. This device ensures that the freezing agent is released accurately and safely. This means that you can hone in on stubborn warts and verrucas instead of dealing with any side effects.
It can take up to two weeks for a wart to be removed once frozen. During this time, avoid picking or scratching at the skin, as this will delay the treatment and may cause the virus to spread.
Reading the following warnings carefully will help to ensure you are selecting an appropriate product.
Bazuka Sub-Zero should not be used if you:
- Are pregnant
- Are breastfeeding
- Have diabetes
- Have poor circulation to the extremities
- Are using another wart or verruca treatment
This product is suitable for children only if they are over the age of 4. An adult should apply the treatment to the child’s skin.
This treatment is not appropriate for warts on or around sensitive areas (i.e. the face, breasts, genitals, bottom, armpits). If you have a wart on or around one of these areas, consult your GP or dermatologist as you will require specialist advice.
This treatment is not suitable for other skin lesions (e.g. birthmarks, moles)
Do not use Bazuka Sub-Zero on damaged, itchy or diseased skin.
Do not re-use foam applicators. Take care when handling the device, as the freezing agent can cause damage to skin and other surfaces if it leaks. It is also highly volatile and flammable.
Bazuka Sub-Zero is not known to interact with any other medicines. However, it should not be used alongside other treatments for warts or verrucas.
Please read all packaging and the Product Information Leaflet before taking any new medicine and inform your doctor of medicines you are taking or intend to take.
Before using the device, soak the affected skin in warm water. Use a file or pumice to remove any excess skin.
To assemble the device, insert a foam applicator into the nozzle, and add the protective cap. To ‘charge’ the applicator, twist the device such that the arrows on the aerosol and the cap meet in the ‘on’ position, and push down on the cap. Apply the foam applicator to your wart or verruca for a few seconds.
The active ingredients contained in Bazuka Sub-Zero’s freezing agent are:
Dimethyl ether, liquid propane gas
Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Treatment will initially cause pain and tingling on the skin to which it is applied. As the skin heals, there will be blistering and scabbing.
If used incorrectly, the freezing agent can cause permanent scarring, or damage to nearby tendons or nerves.
If you are concerned about these effects, or if the product affects you in any other way, stop using it and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Bazuka Sub-Zero Freeze Treatment FAQs
No. sadly, Bazuka Sub-Zero shouldn’t be used by diabetics or by anyone who has poor peripheral blood circulation.
As a general precaution, it is not recommended to use bazuka Sub-Zero if pregnant or breastfeeding.
Bazuka Sub-Zero is suitable for adults, the elderly, and for children over four years of age. Bazuka Sub-Zero is not recommended for younger children because the application can cause a painful stinging sensation that can take a few hours to subside.
Before using Bazuka Sub-Zero to treat warts on these locations, it is advised to check your diagnoses with you doctor or pharmacist first.
Warts that develop on the face, breasts, armpits, bottom or genitals will likely require specialist treatment. It is important to consult with your doctor should a wart appear on or near any of these sensitive areas. In these circumstances, Bazuka Sub-Zero is not suitable for use.
Providing it has been stored appropriately, Bazuka Sub-Zero can be kept until the expiry date, which is printed on the packet.
None of the ingredients in Bazuka Sub-Zero are derived from animals.
There are no indications that make Bazuka Sub-Zero inappropriate for asthmatics. However, if you feel your asthma is aggravated by Bazuka Sub-Zero, you should stop using it straight away.
Verrukill technology is a patented, double protection safety system that enables the user to see when the applicator is fully charged with the freezing agent. This technology will help prevent premature or accidental discharge.
Although it isn’t essential to replace the dome-shaped safety cap, it is preferable to leave the cap in place, in the ‘off’ position. The safety cap has been designed to allow for safe charging of the foam applicator. If the safety cap is accidently left in the ‘on’ position, the freezing agent can be inadvertently discharged if the cap is pressed.
Small warts may only require one freeze treatment. However, larger, older or stubborn warts can be more difficult to remove. This especially applies to verrucas that have developed on the heels or balls of the feet. These warts/verrucas may require more than one freeze treatment. If more than one freeze treatment is needed, allow a two-week interval before repeating the treatment. It is not advised to freeze the same wart/verruca more than three times in total.
For larger, stubborn warts/verrucas, soaking the affected area in warm water and gently filing the wart/verruca down with an emery board or pumice stone will help make the wart/verruca more susceptible to the freeze treatment.
If there are multiple warts clustered together, it is recommended to treat each wart within this cluster separately, and on different occasions (allowing a two-week interval). This technique will help avoid multiple lesions from developing. Under these circumstances, it can take a long time to treat all warts.
Bazuka Sub-Zero can be used as often as required, providing it is not used more than three times for the same wart/verruca.
After application, once the initial sting and discomfort has subsided, soothing emollients and creams can safely be used. However, take care when applying creams or lotions so as not to further aggravate the treated area.
If you experience any leakage from the bottom of the cap whilst charging, it is likely that the cap is being depressed for too long. When charging the applicator, be sure to stand the can on a suitable surface, so that the hands should only come into contact with the safety cap as it is depressed.
Any leakage will likely vaporise quickly, appearing as a fine mist.
If you experience leakage, take extra care to avoid contact with skin, clothing, fabrics, metal or polished surfaces.
No. Bazuka Sub-Zero should not be used at the same time as other wart/verruca removal treatments.
