What is Vicks Vaporub and what is it used for?
Vicks Vaporub offers a 4-in-1 solution for relief of cold symptoms, including:
- Nasal catarrh
- Congestion
- Sore throat
- Coughs due to colds
Always use at the first sign of a cold to get maximum benefit.
How does Vicks Vaporub work?
When applied on chest and throat, temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation associated with the common cold
On the muscles and joints, it temporarily relieves minor aches and pains of muscles and joints.
How to use Vicks Vaporub
RUB ON METHOD
Adults: Rub liberally onto chest, throat and back, Cover whole area for maximum effect. Leave night clothes loose to allow vapours to be inhaled easily.
Children over 2 years: Gently help to rub away the symptoms of your child's cold with your tender touch. Apply lightly to chest and back. Leave clothes loose for easy inhalation.
INHALATION METHOD
Adults: If head cold or nasal catarrh persists, for deep action relief melt two teaspoons of Vicks VapoRub in a bowl of very hot (not boiling) water. Inhale the soothing medicated vapours for 10 - 15 minutes.
Children: Not recommended for children under 2 years of ageThis product can be used with other medicines.
Vicks Vaporub ingredients
Vicks VapoRub contains:
- Menthol and camphor to calm a cough
- Eucalyptus and menthol to relieve nose congestion
- Eucalyptus to relieve catarrh
Active Ingredients: Levomenthol 2.75% w/v, camphor 5.00 w/v, eucalyptus oil 1.00% w/v, turpentine oil 5.00% w/w.
Also contains: Thymol, cedarwood oil, and white soft paraffin.
