Bonjela Junior Gel Information

  • How does Bonjela Junior Gel work?

Bonjela Junior Gel aims to soothe mouth ulcer pain and discomfort. The gel contains active ingredients that relieve inflammation, soreness and swelling from inside the mouth or on the surface of the gums. This children's formula comes in a pleasant banana flavour to aid with easy application for little ones aged five months and older.

    Alternatives to Bonjela Junior Gel

If your child is suffering from other oral discomforts alongside mouth ulcers, Corsodyl Dental Gel can help manage tooth decay, oral thrush, gum pain and mouth ulcers for an overall healthier mouth. However, this product is only suitable for children over the age of 12 (and adults, of course).

Children over the age of 12 and adults can also use Corsodyl to treat a range of mouth conditions including ulcers. However, you may find this product more effective as a preventive measure or when you spot the early signs of an ulcer.

  • How do I apply Bonjela Junior Gel?

Bonjela for kids should be applied directly onto the area of discomfort in the mouth or on the gums. If the child is too young to do this properly, an adult must do it for them. Be sure to check that the cap seal is unbroken before use and ensure that the person applying the gel has clean hands before starting. If it isn’t convenient to apply the gel with a clean fingertip, it’s also fine to use a clean swap.

How often should I apply Bonjela Adult treatment?

Bonjela for kids can be reapplied after 20 minutes and every three hours after that. If a dose is missed, simply follow up with a new dose following the instructions provided. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Symptoms should improve within a few days of using the gel. If there’s little to no improvement after 7 days, see a doctor or dentist.

Can the gel be used to treat teething babies?

Bonjela Junior gel is not suitable for the treatment of teething in children. You should seek alternative products for effective pain relief in this area, such as Bonjela Soothing Teething Gel.

  • What are the possible side effects of using the gel?

Children’s Bonjela doesn’t usually cause any side effects, but with all medication, there is a small risk. Look out for the following symptoms:
