Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus contains glycerol which coats the throat to soothe the symptoms of coughs and sore throats.
How does Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus work?
Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus is a soothing preparation for relief of the symptoms of coughs and sore throats. The formulation contains glycerol, which coats the throat and acts as a demulcent to soothe the passage of the upper respiratory tract.
Alternatives to Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus
Experiencing coughs and colds at any time of the year is incredibly common. There are therefore plenty of choices when it comes to treating an irritating cough and it is often down to personal preference as to what treatment you prefer. Often cold and flu treatments also contain decongestants and painkillers so it is important to read the product descriptions of each treatment carefully.

Recommended doses:
Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: Take 2x 5ml spoonfuls when required up to a maximum of 4 times a dayChildren over 1 year: Take 1 x 5ml spoonful when required up to a maximum of 4 times a day
Do not use Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus if you have: An allergy to any of the ingredients listed.
Talk to your doctor if you have: Diabetes. This product is not suitable for diabetics. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on alternative medicines.
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding.
If you accidentally take too much: See a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine you have swallowed.
Do not give to children under 1 year old unless your doctor tells you to. If symptoms persist for more than five days, consult your doctor or pharmacist.Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus ingredients
Contains 1.7g of sucrose and 0.3g liquid glucose per 5ml dose.
To be considered by people with diabetes. If you have been told that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
It also contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol), less than 100mg per 10ml dose.
The active ingredients per 5ml are: glycerol 1.36g
The other ingredients are: honey, capsicum tincture (capsicum oleoresin ethanol), menthol, peppermint oil, anise oil, citric acid (E330), caramel (E150), liquid glucose, blackcurrant flavour (containing ethanol, propylene glycol), liquorice liquid extract and purified water
Dietary properties:
- Suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs
- Free from nuts and artificial colours

There are no known side effects from using Covonia Dry & Tickly Cough Linctus as directed.

Do not use the medicine if you or your child:
- Have an allergy to any of the ingredients listed.
- Are diabetic. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice on alternative medicines.
Keep it out of the sight and reach of children
Do not store above 25°C
Do not use after the expiry date shown on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month
Medicine should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of any unused medicine
